Bexley Phoenix Choir logoBexley Phoenix Choir is from South-East London and was founded in 2007. Initially all 40+ members had been in Bexley Youth Choir which their Director, John MacKenzie, conducted from 1987 – 2007 and around 25 of those still sing with the choir. However a number of new members have joined since then and the Choir always welcomes enquiries from keen singers.

The Choir aims to perform a wide range of different types of music, from early sacred and secular works, through the classical and romantic periods to folk, gospel and popular songs. Whilst in the Youth Choir, members had a wide experience of concert venues, including the Royal Festival Hall, the Barbican Hall, Fairfield and the Queen Elizabeth Hall. They also performed in eight cathedrals on UK tours and broadcast on Classic FM and Radio Three. In addition to the concerts listed below, Bexley Phoenix Choir has performed at Shrewsbury Abbey, Cartmel Priory, Bolton Abbey and the cathedrals at Bury St. Edmunds, Liverpool (RC), Ely, Wells and Ripon.
